FIA F4 FIRST WIN!

FIA F4 FIRST WIN!

FIA F4 CEZ 2024

29. April 2024

Our first win in F4 in the FIA F4 CEZ championship in Hungary

A memorable week-end in Hungary as we snatched our first victory in FIA Formula 4 during the opening round of the CEZ F4 Championship 2024 at Balaton Park.

Kirill Kutskov, in car #31 drove a fantastic week-end, leading to a victory in the final race of the week-end. The week-end began with promising pace during the free practice sessions, Kirlll finishing in the top 3. However, we lost pace in qualifying and Race 1, securing only P5 on the grid and P4 in Race 1.

Some good decisions overnight and set up changes enabled Kirill to secure his first podium of the week-end with P3 in Race 2. But things were only getting started. Starting on pole for Race 3, Kirill kept Oscar Wurz closely behind him in a tensed fight. As the laps and countdown to the checkered flag progressed, Kirill maintained his driving and defence clean, and secured a fantastic victory. An impressive success given that Kirill had never driven on the Balaton Park racetrack before, during a week-end where he was also discovering the team. Some formidable adaptation skills and racing action!

As for the team, what an incredible feeling to get a first victory in FIA F4, only 2 years and a few months after re-igniting Maffi Racing from its Ethiopian roots. We are unbelievably proud of every single team member with whom we have moved mountains to get here through a true collective effort.

This race in Hungary marked another milestone reached as we entered a female competitor in a FIA F4 event for the first time, furthering our commitment to promoting diversity in our sport. Kornelia Olkcuka made us proud, bringing back a P3 rookie podium in Race 2 for her debut in the category, after signing the pole position for the Women trophy.

A special thanks goes to our partners, collaborators, silent partners and staff members of Maffi Racing, both past and present, who have brought and continue to bring a piece of the puzzle of this achievement.

To the sponsors of our drivers, a big thank you as well!
